Welcome to my personal website

I am an Assistant Professor of Criminology at Durham University. I have a practice background supporting victims of domestic abuse in a multi-agency, child protection setting. I also have many years experience working with young men in secure criminal justice settings, and autistic and disabled children and young people with learning difficulties, physical impairments, and severe challenging behaviour.

I am also the proud mummy of a beautiful West Highland Terrier, Lady Cleopatra

I completed my ESRC funded PhD on the statutory domestic violence perpetrator programme, Building Better Relationships, at the University of Manchester. I explored practitioner experiences of delivery and those of men who attended the programme. You can read more about the research here.

I then completed an ESRC Funded Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at Durham University and the Centre for Research into Violence and Abuse. Building on my PhD, I explored international practitioners’ experiences and perspectives on how domestic violence perpetrator programmes can be more responsive to autistic and/or have ADHD men who perpetrate domestic abuse.
